Purpose of the Course

  • To share our understanding of Employment Equity and Skills Development Act.
  • Understand the changes to the education and training system in South Africa
  • Outline the structures and roles of National Qualification Framework, South African Qualification Authority, and National Skills Authority including SETA Processes and systems.
  • Development of link between SDA, E.E Act, ABET and Grading system.
  • Locate Skills Development within broader Human Resource Strategy.
  • Promoting Skills Development for employability and sustainable likelihood
  • Develop mechanisms of mandate and feedback to members on issues of Skills Development and Employment Equity Act including ABET.
  • Locating the skills development and Employment Equity Act in its political, organisational and economic context.
  • Develop an understanding on how various laws and institutions relate to each other.

  • Skills Development Act and Employment Equity Act in context.
  • Compilation and format of Workplace Skills Plans (WSP)
  • Outlining Union strategy in the engagement processes.
  • Linkages and relationship between NQF, SAQA and SETAS

Target

  • RC, RESCO, REHSCO, Nesco members and the comrades sitting in various committees contemplated in this Acts.
